RANGELY I The CNCC cowgirls had another great rodeo, their second of the spring rodeo season. This past weekend, they completed in Twin Falls, Idaho, at the “CSI” indoor rodeo. It is a very well-produced rodeo, and a fun one to attend.
In the long go-round of the barrel racing, Hadley Gross was just 2/10ths out of making it back to the short go-round for the Top 10 competitors in each event. She needed just a bit more time off either her first or third barrels, and she would have easily made it back. In the goat tying, Gross said that her get off “was a bit of a rodeo in itself.” She just missed making it back in the goat tying, as well.
Sadie Shake had a great long go-round in the barrel racing, as she won first place this weekend. Winning first against all the other barrel racers is a big deal in itself, but what makes this even more exciting, is that her horse came back sound from a broken foot last year. Unfortunately, in the short go-round, she tipped the same barrel as she did in the short go-round last weekend in Salina, Utah, so we are working on that one.
“We have this coming weekend off, and then we travel to Ogden, Utah, on March 25-26 for the “Weber” college rodeo, which is the last indoor rodeo of the spring season for the team. Again, thank you for your support,” said Tammy Olson, CNCC Rodeo Coach.
