RANGELY I Chris Vergnaud, the head volleyball coach for the Colorado Northwestern Community College Spartans, has announced that the CNCC Spartan Volleyball Camp is now scheduled for July 27 and 28.
The two-day youth skills camp costs $65; the specialty camp is $65 and it is $120 for those who wish to take both camps.
The individual skills camp will run from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for youths aged eight years to 18 who are beginners and intermediates.
Training in that camp will focus on all skills: passing, setting, serving, blocking, attacking and defense.
The specialty camps will run from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for youths aged eight years to 18 who are intermediate to advanced.
Training in that camp will focus on training in specialty positions, such has hitting, setting and defense.
Vergnaud was named the 2015 NJCAA Region XVIII Coach of the Year. He will be assisted by Ashley Bryant, the CNCC assistant volleyball coach who was the 2014-15 assistant coach at Eastern Florida State College.
