Colorado Gives Day Dec. 7

WHAT IS COLORADO GIVES DAY?

Community First Foundation and FirstBank will present the 2021 Colorado Gives Day on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021.  There will be 3,150 Colorado charities participating in this online giving day, including the Meeker Education Foundation (MEF), Rio Blanco County Historical Society, Casa of the Ninth, CNCC, the Becky Dubbert Memorial Scholarship and more. All are nonprofits in good and all donations to them are tax deductible.  Your gift can be made ahead of time or on Dec. 7.  

Community First Foundation and FirstBank have generously established a $1.6 Million Incentive Fund and every nonprofit receiving donations on Colorado Gives Day will receive a prorated portion of this fund.  Your donation will be boosted and MEF will receive more than the amount of your gift.  You may preschedule a donation through Colorado Gives Day ahead of time or make one Dec. 7, 2021. 

HOW TO DONATE

1) Go to ColoradoGives.org; 2) enter  ‘Meeker Education Foundation, Inc.’ in the ‘Search by name, keyword’ box; 3) enter  “nonprofits” in the next drop down box labeled ‘Sort by’; 4) MEF’s logo and donation box will come up.  The same process works for the other organizations that are participating. 

MEF continues to support the many needs of Meeker School District, and, in 2021, has funded grants totaling $77,359 to date. Most monies went to fund curricular materials and equipment which went directly into classrooms and enrichment opportunities such as the sixth grade Outdoor Ed Experience and MHS’s drama program.  An additional opportunity allowed MEF to fund MES Security cameras, an end of the year student trip and Nordic PE unit for BMS, and pottery wheel and additional classroom supplies for MHS.
