Help clean up the White River

MEEKER | Meet up with the White River Alliance this Saturday, Aug. 19 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a White River clean up day. Starting at the Lake Avery spillway, we’ll work our way down to Circle Park. Bags, pick-up sticks, and a box lunch provided free by the White River Alliance.

Free rifle sight-in event Aug. 19

MEEKER | The Meeker Sportsman’s Club, at 2553 Rio Blanco County Road 11 (Sulphur Creek), will be hosting a free Rifle Sight-in event on Saturday, Aug. 19 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Targets, rests, hearing protection and spotters will be provided. All you need to bring is your rifle and the correct ammunition. This event is open to non-members. For more information, call Scott Nielsen 970-756-9599.

Operation Christmas Child presentation Aug. 20

MEEKER | You are invited to hear about what God is doing through Operation Christmas Child to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to children, families and communities around the world. Explore ways you can partner in this exciting ministry! Bring a friend! The presentation will be Aug. 20 at 3 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1191 Market St. in Meeker, Colorado. Bingo in Meeker Aug. 25

MEEKER | Presented by the Rio Blanco County Historical Society, the first Bingo night will be held on Friday, Aug. 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the Heritage Culture Center, 517 Park Ave. Following bingo nights to be held on the last Saturday of the month at 6:30 p.m., doors open at 6 p.m.

Auditions for Seussical Jr.

MEEKER | Auditions for the fall production of Seussical Jr. the Musical for third through eighth graders will tbe Friday, Sept. 1 at 10 a.m. at the MHS auditorium. If you would like to be considered for a part with lines and solo singing, please prepare a short song and a short speech. Fee is $30. CNA class starts Sept. 5

MEEKER | The Meeker CNA training program is holding its next class from Sept. 5-29 at Meeker High School. The class is open to any interested parties age 16 and older. Please notify meekercnatraining [email protected] for further information. The program coordinator will reach out to you.
