Fair Fun Dig at RBC Fairgrounds

MEEKER | Streamline Realty is putting on the annual Fair Fun Dig at the RBC Fairgrounds. Come find some treasures all day Thursday, Aug. 3 through Saturday, Aug. 5 at the Indoor Arena, RBC Fairgrounds, 700 Sulphur Creek Road.

Coffee Talk this Friday

Aug. 4 ribbon cutting for new South Fork bridge

MEEKER | The US Air Force Academy and US Forest Service, White River National Forest will host a ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the completion of a new bridge across the South Fork on Friday, Aug. 4 at 9 am.. in the South Fork Campground. Air Force Academy cadets have taken this project from initial design through all phases of construction. “We’ll just say a few quick words, take some pictures, and then spend some time together to meet and said thanks,” says Greg Rosenmerkel, former Engineering Staff Officer for the White River National Forest. Arrow head digitization

MEEKER | Coal Creek Research will be at the White River Museum on Aug. 7 to scan and document arrow heads and points to be placed in a online database for continued research and observation. If you have a private collection that you would like to have digitized, please feel free to call them at 303-588-2207 or drop by on the morning of the Aug. 7 to visit with them.

Upcoming free legal clinic

MEEKER | Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2023 from 2-5 p.m. A free legal clinic for parties who have no attorney.   Volunteer attorneys will answer questions and explain the process and procedure for all areas of Colorado civil law, including family law, property law, probate law, collections, appeals, landlord-tenant law, small claims, veterans issues and civil protection orders. Contact your Meeker Library at 970-878-5911 to be added to the sign-up sheet. All free. Space is limited. 

Historical Society meeting Sunday, Aug. 13

MEEKER | The quarterly gathering of the Rio Blanco County Historical Society will be Sunday, Aug. 13 at 1 p.m. at Town Park. Details to follow next week!

Christian Book Club to meet Aug. 14

MEEKER | The Meeker Christian Community Book Club will meet on Monday, Aug. 14 at 6 p.m. to discuss the first half (four chapters) of the book “Love Wins” by Rob Bell at St. James Episcopal Church. Free rifle sight-in event Aug. 19

MEEKER | The Meeker Sportsman’s Club, at 2553 Rio Blanco County Road 11 (Sulphur Creek), will be hosting a free Rifle Sight-in event on Saturday, Aug. 19 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.  Targets, rests, hearing protection and spotters will be provided. All you need to bring is your rifle and the correct ammunition. This event is open to non-members. For more information, call Scott Nielsen 970-756-9599.
