MEEKER | The Meeker Public Library book club is reading An Unfinished Love Story by Doris Kearns Goodwin. We will meet to discuss the book at the Meeker Public Library on Monday, Jan. 13, at 1 p.m. Extra copies are available for check out at the library if you would like to join in the fun. Water-Soil-Agriculture: Local findings review
MEEKER | Join six guest speakers for a jam-packed review session on local findings from research on Water and Soil natural resources in Rio Blanco County. Speakers will discuss water quality results from irrigated hay fields, the Colorado Soil Health Program (STAR), drought tolerant forages, riparian/diversion assessments outcomes and funding opportunities to help landowners complete improvement projects on their land. This is an open public meeting to be held on Thursday, Jan. 16 from 1-2:30 p.m. at the Fire Protection District (240 7th St., Meeker).
Invitation to bid to provide meal at annual meeting for Conservation Districts
RBC | White River and Douglas Creek Conservation Districts have an Invitation to Bid/Propose for the annual meeting meal. Maximum $30 per person. The annual meeting is set for Feb. 12, 2025 at the Fairfield Center with appetizers/cocktails/registration at 5:30 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. The invitation to bid includes a mandatory walkthrough before/after the event. The Fairfield kitchen is available. The Districts are requesting a proposal for a full ‘turn-key’ buffet style catering service for approx. 60-75 people (payment on actual plate count) to include two appetizers (one hot/one cold), a main course with split proteins (beef/chicken), one starch, one vegetable, mixed green lettuce salad with two salad dressings, dessert assortment, beverages (water, iced tea, coffee service). A small number of servers will be provided. Bid should include all service, cleanup, trash removal, and dessert services. Bids must be submitted to White River Conservation Districts by Friday, Jan. 10, 2025. Bids can be submitted by hand delivering to the District office at 351 7th St., Meeker, Colorado.
