July concerts at The TANK
RANGELY | Sounds, songs, and space — that’s what John Gunther will explore in the TANK on July 15 at 8 p.m. He’ll perform an array of songs from early music, folk, spirituals, to jazz. John will be performing and looping on an array of instruments from the deep tones of a contrabass clarinet, to an array of flutes, saxophones, even a 10-foot overtone flute. New York-based composer/performer Andy Clausen presents “Heart of Tones – Solo Trombone at The TANK” on July 29 at 8 p.m. New works are presented alongside existing repertoire spanning five centuries of musical history, from medieval chant, to shape-note hymns, to Ellington ballads, and sonic meditations from Pauline Oliveros. Expect the unexpected through an evening of lush brass tones in the luxurious resonance of The TANK.
