Fish Fry June 15 at Buford School

MEEKER | Please join the White River Community Association for the annual Fish Fry at the Buford Schoolhouse from 4-6 p.m. on June 15. Meal is $15 per adult, $10 for seniors, $5 for children 12 and under. 

Quilt raffle fundraiser June 15  

MEEKER | Ellen Reichert donated a quilt made by Kathy Sizemore with squares created by the late Hazel Rosenlund. Purchase tickets at the White River Museum where the quilt is currently on display. The raffle will be held June 15 during the annual fish fry at Buford School House (winner need not be present). Raffle tickets are $10 each or three for $20.

Back on Track Clinic for Meeker Mustang Makeover June 15

MEEKER | The Back On Track Clinic Saturday, June 15. is an opportunity for the public to come see how far along some of our trainers are. It is $10 to audit. The Back on Track Clinic for Wild Horse Trainers and Kids Wild Horse Camp starts at 8:30 a.m. From 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. Mustang Trainer Professionals Steve and Nick Mantle begin one on one time in round pens.  Lunch provided for all trainers and volunteers from 12-1 p.m. Kids Camp, Director Rouven Krauer, Outdoor Arena, 1-4 p.m. Show skills, youth drill team, obstacle practice.

ERBM Meet & Greet postponed 

MEEKER | The scheduled meet and greet on June 18 for new Executive Director Josh Embrey has been postponed indefinitely. 

Town Hall events with state reps June 17, Meeker and Rangely

RBC | House District 26 Representative Meghan Lukens and Senate District 8 Senator, Dylan Roberts will host Town Hall events to recap the 2024 Colorado Legislative Session and answer questions. The Rangely Town Hall meeting will be June 17 from 12-1 p.m. at 209 E Main and in  Meeker on June 17 from 5-6 p.m. at the Meeker Public Library (490 Main St.). 

Forest health community meeting June 18 

MEEKER | June 18 at 6 p.m. at the Buford School House. Join us to discuss ways to improve forest health in the White River National Forest and adjoining private properties. Learn about wildfire risks in your area, resources to manage these risks, and ways to increase safety and resilience. If your home is located in a forested area of Rio Blanco County, we encourage you to attend. Call for more information at 970-878-9838,  White River Conservation District. 

Softball Clinic rescheduled

MEEKER | The MHS Sports Softball Clinic has been rescheduled to Friday, June 21 at 9 a.m. at Paintbrush Park. Coaches and high school team members will teach the fundamentals of the sport. Grades K-8th are welcome. Cost is $5 at the door; please bring cash or check. All proceeds go to MHS Athletics programs.

CPW’s Cast, Blast & Twang June 22

MEEKER | Mark your calendars for the annual Colorado Parks and Wildlife Cast, Blast & Twang fishing, archery and shooting event on June 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Nine Mile Guest Ranch. Activities include .22 rifle and shotgun shooting, archery, fly fish casting, spin fishing and lunch. Free for all ages and persons interested in learning new outdoor skills. All gear, instruction and lunch provided. No previous experience or equipment needed (do not bring firearms, can bring your own fishing or archery equipment). Participants 16 and older need a current fishing license for fishing events. No pets allowed. Call 970-255-6181 to register (not required but appreciated). 

Summer Reading Program now for kids and adults!
