Fun begins at 8 a.m. Before your fingers begin smelling like fish scales, stop at the Lions Club tent for a free pancake. Kids love this annual event, but anyone from toddler to an octogenarian “kid at heart” is welcome. CPW will be providing rods, fishing equipment and advice on how to untangle lines. No license is required for this event. The Lions Club and the Meeker Police Department are sponsoring a free breakfast at 10 a.m. CPW staff will offer an educational talk at 10:30 a.m. on everything you need to know about fish in Rio Blanco County and we wrap things up at 11 a.m. In case of inclement weather, we might have to cancel if safety is a concern, still, the fish don’t mind a little wetness.
