Historical Society bingo night at the Fairgrounds this Saturday

MEEKER | The monthly bingo game sponsored by the Rio Blanco County Historical Society on the last Saturday of the month is moving from the Heritage Culture Center on Park Ave. to the Rio Blanco County Fairgrounds. Come at 6 p.m.! $1 per bingo sheet or $5 for six sheets.

Registration open for 23rd annual Colorado Snow and Avalanche Workshop

RBC | Every year, hundreds of avalanche professionals from around the state descend on Breckenridge for the annual Colorado Snow and Avalanche Workshop (CSAW). CSAW is the state’s premier educational event for avalanche industry workers and advanced recreationalists and is hosted by the Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC) and Friends of CAIC. This year, the event is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 18. Early bird registration for $35 is now open at Support.FriendsofCAIC.org/CSAW for the 23rd annual CSAW. Registration increases to $45 on Oct. 1. 

Walbridge Wing annual Craft Sale Oct. 11

MEEKER | The annual Walbridge Wing craft sale will be held in the board room at Pioneers Medical Center on Friday, Oct. 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come buy embroidered tea towels, aprons, hanging towels, afghans, doilies, scarves, hats… much more. All proceeds go to the Wing Activity Fund. 

Free community lunch Oct. 6 

MEEKER | St. James Episcopal United Methodist Church is hosting a free community lunch at 12 p.m. at Richards’ Hall (368 4th St.) in Meeker on Sunday, Oct. 6 Join us for pulled pork sandwiches, mac & cheese, coleslaw and desserts, all homemade. 

Fairfield grant applications due 

MEEKER |  The deadline for Freeman E. Fairfield semi-annual grant applications will be 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2024. Applications may be mailed to PO Box 2302, Meeker CO 81641 or delivered to Diane Dunham, 438 E Market. Mailed applications must be received, not postmarked Oct. 1, 2024.

Volunteer to improve local trails on National Public Lands Day

MEEKER |  BLM invites you to celebrate National Public Lands Day Saturday, Sept. 28 from 8 a.m. to noon. This year’s project will be the new Anderson Gulch trail and will start at the Ute Park trailhead (12th and Hill St.) Participants will receive one fee-free Park Pass, a T-shirt, drinks, and a snack courtesy of the BLM. Pumpkin, Eats N’ Treats downtown in Meeker on Oct. 31

MEEKER | Meghan Lukens, our State House District 26 representative, will be in Meeker for a fundraiser and Meet and Greet, Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 4-6 p.m. She will be speaking at the home of a supporter at 40000 Hwy. 13.
