Grand Junction VA back to normal hours

RBC | The Grand Junction VA Medical Center Emergency Room resumed normal hours of operation (24/7) on Monday, Nov. 7, 2022. Mission Act will cover veterans at non-VA emergency rooms. You must call 1-844-724-7842 or email [email protected] within 72 hours of receiving care.

Veterans luncheon at BMS Nov. 10

MEEKER | All veterans are invited to attend the annual Veterans Day luncheon at Barone Middle School on Thursday, Nov. 10. Lunch will be served by the Meeker Chamber from 11:20-11:30 a.m., followed by the fourth grade class Veterans Day program from 11:30-11:55 a.m. The Pledge of Allegiance, presentation of the colors and history of the POW/MIA flag by members of the VFW Post 5843, and the National Anthem, sung by Gracee Gardner, begins at 11:55 a.m. There will be a question and answer panel with questions asked by BMS Student Council members from 12:10-12:25 p.m.

Free access to state parks for military

RBC | As a thank you to U.S. military members, Colorado Parks and Wildlife offers veterans, active-duty military and the National Guard free admission to all Colorado state parks on Nov. 11, 2022. Veterans and military members, residents and non-residents, can visit any Colorado state park for free by showing proof of military service. Vehicles displaying a Colorado disabled veteran or Purple Heart license plate receive free entry to all state parks year-round.

Library book club Nov. 14

MEEKER | The book club will be reading “Remarkably Bright Creatures” by Shelby Van Pelt. We will discuss the book on Monday, Nov. 14 at 1 p.m. All are welcome to join in the fun.

Shop Local on “Pink Friday”

RBC | Mark your calendars now for Friday, Nov. 18. A few Meeker retailers will be participating in “Pink Friday,”reminding customers to “shop small first.” The holiday, created in 2021 by the Boutique Hub, a national organization, is intended to encourage people to visit small local retailers a week prior to Black Friday deals. Horizons revamping Little Points of Light

RBC | Horizons’ annual Little Points of Light campaign and event are being revamped. We are putting a pause on Little Points of Light this December and will re-launch the event as an end-of-summer bash. Christmas Bazaar, Craft Show in Rangely Dec. 10

RANGELY | Mark your calendar for Christmas shopping at the Rangely Bazaar/Craft Fair on Saturday, Dec. 10 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 402 W. Main St. (EEC Building). Christmas decor and gifts, Rada cutlery, knit and crochet items, wood art, horseshoe art and more. Weather permitting, Big Mike’s BBQ food truck will be there for lunch. Kids 12-and-under can shop at low prices in the Kids’ Corner
