Blessing of the Animals Oct. 1
MEEKER | The St. James’ Parish invites the community to join them in honoring the feast day of Saint Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals and the environment with our Blessing of the Animals service on the church lawn at 4th and Park Saturday, Oct. 1 at 10 a.m. Our service affirms our belief that our loving Creator God created humankind, but also the birds of the air, the fish of the sea, and the creatures of the field and forest. It also acknowledges our calling to be stewards and caretakers of all God’s creation. All critters and their caretakers are invited to gather for a special blessing. If your pet might be too excited to attend, please bring a picture of your beloved to receive a blessing. Favorite stuffed animals are also invited to participate with their humans! All participants will receive a certificate to mark the occasion.
