RBC | RBC Commissioners toured the county’s west side facilities in Rangely prior to work sessions with Budget and Finance Director Janae Stanworth and IT Director Trevor Nielsen. Stanworth discussed planning and preparing for the upcoming budget season, and Neilsen updated the board on the coming departure of Visionary, one of the county’s broadband service providers, on Sept. 1. Nielsen described the options available to the county for replacing Visionary. Contrary to rumor, Cimarron, the other VAR, is not leaving.
Tuesday’s work sessions were held at Rangely Town Hall instead of the County Annex building for the first time, and there was no regular meeting this week.
In the afternoon, the BoCC hosted a meet and greet and recognized Rangely Veteran Services Officer John ‘Hoot’ Gibson, who is retiring. (An interview with Mr. Gibson about his life and service is planned for a future edition of the HT.)
