Rio Blanco County is seeing the highest spike in COVID-19 cases yet, with 50 active cases in Meeker and 53 active cases in Rangely. There have been 12 new hospitalizations in the last 14 days.
Hospital capacity continues to be a concern. 90% of acute care beds and 92% of ICU beds are in use statewide. In the Northwest Region, which encompasses Moffat, Routt, Rio Blanco, Garfield and Mesa counties, 54 of 59 ICU beds are in use (92%). 80% of those currently hospitalized with COVID-19 are unvaccinated.
Rio Blanco County has the sixth-lowest vaccination rate in the state; 45.5% of adults 18+ have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
