Meeker Cowboy basketball went undefeated last week on their three game run, beginning with an at home win against Roaring Fork 43-41. They went on Friday and Saturday to beat Olathe handily 74-44 and Grand Valley 55-49. They are holding steady at 11 in the CHSAA seeding and selection index.
The Cowboys have three stat leaders that are guiding the team: Jace Mobley, Ryan Sullivan and Jonathan Fitzgibbons. They combined for 122 points led by Mobley with 54. Mobley leads the team in points per game, steals, assists, and three pointers. Fitzgibbons leads in shot percentage and rebounds and Sullivan leads in free throws.
Off the boards Fitzgibbons led with 29 rebounds, Jacob Simonsen had 22, and Mobley had 19. The defense has held all teams to less than 50 points with the exception of the shootout winner, Windsor Charter Academy.
This is a travel weekend for the team as they take on the 40th ranked Gunnison Cowboys on Friday and then the 36th ranked Cedaredge Bruins on Saturday.
