The committee of the town council, consisting of Messrs. Oldland, Young and Welch, who were appointed to look into the matter of the purchase of the town ditch, after a careful investigation, in which they were assisted by County Surveyor Moog, reported favorably on its purchase.
David Smith went over to Craig Tuesday to help out at the Hugus store there during the holidays.
The post office quarters were changed Wednesday without a hitch in the proceedings. As soon as the morning stages were attended to by Mr. JoHantgen, the work of removing the mail and paraphernalia was not a very hard task, nor was the re-arranging in the new location tedious.

The Royal Cafe serves “Hi” class meals, short orders and lunches. “Hi” Grinstead, Chef.
The weather was so spring-like mid-week that the robins put in an appearance. Here’s hoping they have no occasion to change their minds.

Jim Ruckman deserves a pat on the back for saving a cat’s life after it was overcome by smoke. Ruckman applied mouth-to-mouth resuscitation to revive it.
Whoops! Somebody left the freezer door open again Monday night … -19 degrees for the third consecutive night of sub-zero temps.

C.J. Mills’ C.J. Mudd Concrete Company has the contract to clean up and refurbish the former White Water Spas building to get it ready for a large new hardware and buildy supply center north of Meeker. Samuelson, a Craig building industry institution for decades, will open the new business early next year.
Meeker postmaster Dale Hallebach appeared to be building a cardboard fortress for himself, but it’s just the typical Christmas glut at the post office. Postal employees say the seasonal frenzy started much earlier this year than usual, with inbound mail volumes increasing well before Thanksgiving.

With only two entries, the Board of District RE-4 decided to extend to Jan. 8 the contest for naming the new subdivision on the hill. Name blanks may be picked up at local stores.
We received a letter last week wondering why the Times couldn’t have an editorial policy which required that all letters be printed with a signature instead of with the name withheld. You guessed it — the writer didn’t sign his name.

The Rangely Christian Church wrapped up this year’s First Annual Winterfest activities with a live nativity, held beneath a full moon on the old Duco site. In spite of, or because of, the frigid temperatures, the ‘players’ froze into their poses with startling realism.
The Rangely Parkview Elementary third grade class gave a warm, condensed performance of “A Christmas Carol” on Dec. 11. Kalen Brady, Tyler Robertson and Cody Kinney, played the roles of Bob Cratchett, Mr. Scrooge and Tiny Tim, respectively.
