In coming over Yellow Jacket Pass last Sunday Henry Wilson, of Milk Creek, had to buck through some five feet of snow.
At the turkey shoot Thursday Ben Nicols carried off first honors. He got six turkeys out of the fifteen. Dr. French captured three; Simp Harp two, and the rest in singles. Only a dozen shooters participated; and the target was too close for some of them, while for others it was too far away or too small — they didn’t know which.

The “differences” between a radical progressive Republican and a reactionary Republican will soon become manifest to the public. Already these “differences” have assumed the proportions of a first class row.

While checking in on all his little boys and girls in Meeker this coming Saturday, Santa Claus will stop off at the Meeker Drug store. Mr. and Mrs. Herb Blagg, owners of the store, say they expect Santa around two o’clock.
The snow is so deep and the temperatures so low at times that there is a rumor that the turkeys are fighting for a chance to get into the oven.
Mr. and Mrs. Mike Washburn of Meeker are the parents of a baby boy born Dec. 16, at 7:30 a.m. He weighed 8 lbs., 8-¼ oz. and was 21 inches long. His parents have named him Christopher Michael Washburn. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. John Oldland of Meeker, while the equally proud paternal grandparents are the Rev. and Mrs. Ted Washburn of Shaker Heights, Ohio.

A local man whom authorities believe has placed hundreds of obscene phone calls throughout northwest Colorado for almost a decade, is in jail after he placed some calls to phones equipped with caller identification.
Meeker’s Mike Thomas received a third place award at the prestigious Warrior Classic wrestling tournament in Grand Junction over the weekend. Thomas, a senior, placed in the 145-pound weight class in a tourney many say is tougher than the state championship.

The Rangely Town Council approved Ordinance No. 198, controlling dgs within the town to be under the control of those responsible for them.It requires that all dogs be licensed and properly vaccinated.
Moon Lake Electric Association announces plans for a pageant to select a queen to represent their system in a nationwide contest next fall.

At a special meeting on Dec. 19 the COlorado Northwestern Community College Board of Trustees formally decided to pursue joining the state junior college system.
The Rangely High School Chamber Choir performed, along with a “handful” of puppets, to some beautiful holiday music on Dec. 16. Choir members were Brooke Anderson, LeAnn Brubaker, Rachel Cormier, Holly Ercanbrack, Miranda Jackson, Elisabeth Kruger, James Maybury, Joe Rhodes, Rebecca White, Sarah Winterholter, and Kevin Young.
