We predict that the despised native cottonwood will receive more attention than usual next spring.

F.E. Sheridan and Charley Taylor returned from Denver Wednesday evening after leaving Dr. French at St. Luke’s hospital. The doctor stood the trip very well.

Clarence Allen is home after several years absence. In addition to being a pretty good boy, Clarence has a claim to fame as the tallest man in Meeker–something like 6 feet 6 inches, we believe.

North Fork campground will not be open for camping this year during the regular recreation season. Due to lack of maintenance funds, it has been necessary to close certain parts of the campground.

The father/son combination at Watt’s Ranch Market switched controlling interests recently with Harry Watt purchasing the grocery store business from his father Tom as of June 1. 

The Rio Blanco County Pioneers held their 62nd annual reunion at the junior high gym Saturday night with President Robert La Grange acting as master of ceremonies.

Christopher Campbell, a senior at Colorado State University from Meeker received the Colorado State Alumni First Generation Scholarship, Campbell, a biological science and psychology major, is a 1995 graduate of Meeker High School.

After years of complicated wrangling, the Meeker Board of Education has finally settled the matter of unfunded sports by voting 4 to 3 to hire coaches for cross country, golf, and baseball.

The Meeker High School class of 1999 left their mark on history on May 25.

Kristy Hill was named Valedictorian of the Class of 1974 at Rangely High School. 

The test of sincerity is the willingness of an individual to do something without compensation.

Rangely College has announced that ninety students have been elected to the Dean’s Honor List for the 1974 spring semester. In order to be recognized on the Dean’s Honor List, a student must achieve a 3.0 grade point average while enrolled for 12 or more credits.

The following students from Rangely have been named to the Colorado School of Mines dean’s list for the spring semester of the 1998-1999 academic year: senior Glendon Wayne Berrett, senior Shannon Ray Rasmussen, and freshman Michael Alan Rasmussen. 

Eighty-nine students from Rangely Middle School graduated from the G.R.E.A.T. program last month. In order to graduate, the students had to fulfill class assignments and write an essay.
