Spring can’t be far off. The robin has arrived.
Miss Clara Steele, who has been out to Denver for some time, was visiting Meeker friends for a few days in the early part of the week. She left for her home at Buford Tuesday.

The Meeker-Rifle mail and passenger line made good time all week notwithstanding heavy snow gorepart of the week. The Harps bucked thru the snow drifts on time, except two days when the coaches were a bit late.

As part of his campaign for mayor, Pioneers’ Hospital Administrator Russ McDaniel (and hopefully others) plan to walk to Rangely next week. As a symbolic journey of getting Meeker and Rangely to work together to face their upcoming social and economic problems.

The annual chariot races were held over the weekend at Sleepy Cat Guest Ranch. This is the second year the event has been held in Rio Blanco County.

Highway 64 bridge across the White River west of Rangely is shown with ice released from a jam near the town sewage disposal plant blocking only part of the passage Monday. The jam was dynamited to break it up without damage.
Bad officials are elected by good citizens who didn’t vote.

Rangely traveled to Hayden on March 11 to wrestle the Hayden Tigers and the Steamboat Springs Sailors.
