Fourteen below zero Tuesday night and not an orange tree or a banana bud of this part of the citrus belt hurt in the least. What a glorious climate this is.
The blue birds and meadow larks had a hard time of keeping warm Monday and Tuesday nights.
Gov. Adams has named Friday, April 15 Arbor Day.

The Marvine mailman says that in 15 years’ experience he never before saw the upper White river road so muddy–especially between town and the mouth of the canyon.
At the request of Gov. William E. Sweet, Deputy Attorney General FS Caldwell will leave this evening for Meeker, Colorado, to investigate recent raids made there by state prohibition officers. The raids were said to involve high officials of the town and county.
Continued stormy weather keeps the farmers anxiously scanning their haystacks and wishing for the opening of spring.

In celebration of Tom Watt’s birthday last Friday, their daughter, Mrs. John Smith and family that evening. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Tom Watt, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Watt, and family and Michelle Gentry.
A fire call at about 2:30 Tuesday morning found a car stuck in the ditch at 757 Cleveland St. Apparently, a hot engine ignited the weeds under the vehicle, The fire was out when firemen arrived.
Lora Graham, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Graham, received a blue ribbon for her demonstration, “Making a Jello Salad” at the Rio Blanco 4-H Talent and Demonstration contest.

Cody Grinstead caught a whopping 3 pound, 16 ½ inch Rainbow trout on March 20 when he was fishing somewhere up the White River with his dad. Cody is the son of Mike and April Grinstead of Meeker.
The Meeker High School baseball team started its daily practice on Monday with squeeze play drills.
Change is inevitable except from vending machines.

The Roscoe Sizemores and Fred Brumbacks were snowmobilers at Trappers Lake last Sunday.
Pat Mobley came Thursday from Denver to visit with his parents, the Dave Mobleys. Pat went back to Denver Sunday to attend school.
The Dinosaur school was closed Thursday while the teachers attended a meeting at Yampa.

Fourteen Rangely middle school students attended the Celebrate Girls Conference held at Mesa State College on March 13.
On March 24, the Town of Rangely Animal Control Unit held the annual Rabies Clinic. 150 vaccines were administered to pets.
Rangely Middle School will be the site of the twentieth annual 9 Health fair on Saturday morning, April 10, from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
