The owners of Marvine Ranch have donated $275,000 to the Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office as a “thank you” for duties performed by Undersheriff Travis Mobley and others in the department following the abduction of a female employee from Westlands (property owned by Michael Bloomberg) in February. The woman was found safe and her abductor taken into custody in Wyoming. A relative of the abducted employee works for Marvine. Mobley processed the scene at Westlands and obtained video footage that enabled officers to identify the suspect. RBC Sheriff Anthony Mazzola said the donated funds are earmarked for two replacement patrol vehicles (an expense already planned for this year), the purchase of license plate readers to be installed in all RBCSO patrol vehicles, and anything remaining will be used to begin replacing aging radios for deputies. | COURTESY PHOTO
