Dr. J. Alex Sielatycki joins Colorado Advanced Orthopedics

MEEKER I The fellowship-trained, board-certified surgeon takes over for his former mentor, Dr. Clint Devin, and will provide continuity of approach and exceptional care to spine patients in Meeker.

Colorado Advanced Orthopedics (CAO), a division of Pioneers Medical Center in Meeker, Colorado, is proud to announce that Dr. J. Alex Sielatycki is joining their staff. Dr. Sielatycki is a fellowship-trained, board-certified spine surgeon and is taking over for his former mentor, Dr. Clint Devin, who died unexpectedly in a tragic plane crash last December.

Dr. Sielatycki trained under Dr. Devin for five years during his medical residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, and the two doctors remained close in the years since. They regularly collaborated on research focused on advancing the science of spinal motion preservation in the cervical and lumbar spine.

“I am most excited to carry Dr. Devin’s legacy forward and continue developing a spinal motion preservation practice in Northwest Colorado. I look forward to raising my family in the Rocky Mountains and being able to provide excellent spine care for the communities of Colorado,” said Dr. Sielatycki.

Colorado Advanced Orthopedics has gained a highly trained and experienced spine surgeon in Dr. Sielatycki. He’s performed more than 2,500 spine operations, including approximately 1,000 surgeries that were classified as “complex.” He will perform a variety of procedures at CAO including cervical disc replacement, cervical laminoplasty, lumbar discectomy, lumbar laminectomy, minimally invasive spine surgery, spinal motion preservation, and cervical and lumbar fusion procedures. He will work alongside Dr. Justin Grant, who is the sports medicine osteopathic physician at CAO.

“Our patients will have access to relationship-based, cutting-edge spine care, including surgical care by Dr. Sielatycki, who is a world-class surgeon,” said Dr. Grant. “If a patient needs surgical care, Dr. Sielatycki and I will work closely to coordinate the best possible care, individualizing it to the patient and their needs.”

In addition to being an accomplished spine surgeon, Dr. Sielatycki is a distinguished medical researcher. He has contributed to more than 30 research publications, worked on research grants, and presented at numerous podium presentations. He earned the Thomas Whitecloud Award for best clinical research presentation in 2018.

Dr. Sielatycki joins an accomplished, fellowship-trained orthopedic team that includes Dr. Kevin Borchard, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee reconstruction, Dr. Dan Ward, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in total joint replacement surgery of the hip and knee, and Dr. Greg Martyak, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in surgery of the hand and upper extremities.
