The Cross at the site of the community Easter Sunrise Service on Dragon Road was totally destroyed this past winter. When discovered, the wheels were in motion immediately to replace it with a sturdier design. The sunrise service has been at this site since 1950 and the cross has been the target of vandals many, many times. Thank you goes out for the replacement of the cross this time to Margaret and Dennis Slaugh for finding the destroyed cross and contacting others to pitch in, Stewart Welding for materials and building the new cross, NT Coating for painting, Rangely True Value for the Bobcat for site work, Ralph and Jona Carabajal for work at the site. A general thanks too, for all the people who have kept track and kept the tradition in Rangely for more than 60 years! It’s impossible to know all the names but your humble “just do it” attitude is appreciated.
