CNCC is proud and honored to welcome back Dr. Nathan Ivey as a friend and as a keynote speaker at the 50th Anniversary Re-dedication Celebration. Ivey was President of Rangely College (CNCC) 1963-65, while Dorothy Ivey was chairman of Secondary English, Rangely Public Schools, during the same years.
After leaving Rangely, Dr. Ivey held many positions, including Charter President, Southwestern Michigan College, Dowagiac, Michigan; Charter President, John A. Logan College, Carterville, Illinois; President, South Suburban College, South Holland, Illinois; Director of Facilities Management & Planning, Dallas County Community College District (Seven Colleges), Dallas, Texas; Community College Liaison, The University of Texas at Dallas, Richardson, Texas.
Although 85 years of age, Dr. Ivey continues his employment at The University of Texas at Dallas. Dorothy Ivey has retired after thirty years of teaching high school English, Latin. and Journalism. The Ivey children include Dr. Judith Ivey, successful actress (stage, screen, TV) who lives in New York City and is currently performing in the play, THE HEIRESS, on Broadway; Sara Ivey, President of Ivey Production Co., Dallas, Texas, is producing films and medical programs for TV; and Dr. James Ivey, Professor of Theatre, State University of New York at Fredonia, Fredonia, New York.
