PRESS RELEASE
RBC | Economic and community development professionals, elected officials, business leaders, and workforce stakeholders from across Northwest Colorado, and from around the state, will gather for the Economic Development Council of Colorado’s (EDCC) Regional Economic Development Forum in Craig, Colorado.
This one-day event, presented by Colorado Department of State, provides a platform to exchange ideas, learn from industry experts, and highlight regional opportunities and challenges that shape economic development efforts across the region and the state.
Each year, EDCC partners with regional leaders to design a forum that reflects the unique economic landscape of the host region. While each area of Colorado has its own distinct opportunities and challenges, common themes emerge statewide. By sharing experiences and showcasing innovative solutions, attendees gain tools and insights that can be applied in their own communities.
This year’s event, developed in partnership with CSU Extension, REDI@CSU, CSU’s Rural-Urban Connections Food Summit, and various partners in Northwest Colorado, will feature expert presentations, discussions on pressing economic issues, and targeted learning sessions designed to equip attendees with actionable strategies.
Attendees will gain:
• A comprehensive “State of the Region” presentation offering a snapshot of Northwest Colorado’s economic landscape, presented by Colorado’s State Demographer, Kate Watkins, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City Vice President and economist, Nicholas Sly.
• Highlighting innovative programs that deliver real economic results, from workforce development to innovative community projects.
• Expert perspectives from local, regional, and state leaders who will provide tools and resources to help communities tackle economic and workforce development challenges.
• Targeted Breakout Sessions:
— Professional Development Workshop: Leveraging University and Government Resources for Economic Development, facilitated by CSU Extension and REDI@CSU.
— NW CO Agriculture and Food System Convening: A discussion on regional food and agriculture systems, contributing insights to the larger Colorado Food Summit in late 2025. Facilitated by CSU’s Rural-Urban Connections Food Summit
— National Science Foundation (NSF) Colo/Wyo Engine Regional Educational & Listening Sessions – NW Colorado: Participants will explore economic growth opportunities in resource management, disaster preparedness, and innovation, and directly influence investments by sharing regional expertise. They will also connect with existing projects and resources, strengthening workforce development and fostering innovation
This year’s forum is designed for leaders, decision-makers, and stakeholders looking to expand their knowledge, build relationships, and champion economic strategies that strengthen their communities. Whether you’re an elected official, a business leader, or a professional in the fields of economic, community, or workforce development, this event provides a unique opportunity to engage with peers and gain fresh perspectives.
