Ken Hayden of Rangely had a good elk hunting season recently as the 79-year-old hunter was able to bag this 6×6 bull elk in Area 10. Hayden said he shot the bull with the Model 70, .308 Winchester given to him by his wife 60 years ago as a wedding gift. He added that he is telling friends this was his last trophy hunt, despite the fact that he said he still has a passion for hunting. “I’m pretty well used up,” he said, adding that he can now “bask in the glory and memories.”
