RANGELY | A long-standing Rangely event is going to look a little different this year. After discussing COVID-19 concerns, the Rangely Elks BPOE #1907 decided that they would not be able to hold their annual Children’s Christmas Party in December. Also recognizing that 2020 has been a year where many Rangely residents would need a little extra help with Christmas, the Elks members decided something needed to be done, so the Elks Secret Santa program was born.
Similar to the Children’s Christmas Party, the Elks will be asking the public for gift donations to redistribute to children in need. But instead of families coming to the Elks Lodge, the gifts will be delivered to individuals’ homes. Children 0-12 years old are eligible to receive a gift. They will need to be nominated by Dec. 7 at 5 p.m. to receive a gift. If you would like to nominate a child please send the child’s name, age, address, and parent or guardian information to [email protected].
Donation boxes will be out at Rangely businesses the week of Thanksgiving, or if you would like to make a donation you can also leave a message at 970-675-8533
