There was a wide variety of food booths at the Mountain Valley Bank Fall Festival on Saturday in downtown Meeker. Above, cotton candy (FCCLA) and snow cones (Range Call Royalty) can be seen, but there were other food items that included baked potatoes, popcorn, pork ribs, punch and caramel apples, Otter pops, corn dogs, cupcakes, soda and water for the several hundred who attended the event.
A rustic miniature golf course was set up on the grounds of the old Meeker elementary school, and this young beginner had a difficult time navigating the rough with a putter.
People of all ages, shapes and sizes milled around the wide variety of games, caught the pie, salsa, jelly and jam auction, tried out all kinds of food, played a number of different games and watched the people go by during Saturday’s 11th annual Mountain Valley Bank Fall Festival in downtown Meeker.
The pie auction at the Mountain Valley Bank’s Fall Festival on Saturday was a large success. Several pies, jams, jellies and salsas were part of the auction. Above, auctioneer Bryce Purkey heads up the sales assisted by Trina Zager-Brown of the White River Electric Association. All income from the auction went to the Rio Blanco County 4-H Foundation.
One of the many food booths available at the Fall Festival on Saturday in Meeker was one of the best known in Meeker—that of the Rio Blanco County Historical Society and their famous root beer floats.
Ben Rogers of Meeker well utilized his high capacity round grill on Saturday at the Fall Festival, preparing the highly popular sirloin tips on behalf of the Rio Blanco County Stockgrowers. The festival was put on by Mountain Valley Bank and co-sponsored by White River Electric Association and the ERBM Recreation and Park District to allow area non-profit organizations to raise funds.
