Meeker High School Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) hosted the Scenic Country (Western Slope) FCCLA Fall District Conference. District President Sam Hightower and the MHS Officer team led the 56 students participating through leadership roundtables, STAR Event information, and promoted competition in state events. Instructor Brenda Hummel said, “MHS students never fail to amaze me. Graycee Cravens, Eduardo Cordova, Becca Hood, Aimee Shults, Lissbeth Sanchez, Sam Hightower and Finley Deming planned and ran the day. Watching these students gain skills and promote a program that encourages Family and Community is the highlight of what I do.” Students will meet again in the winter with Grand Junction, Palisade, Fruita and Rangely to practice and evaluate spring competition pieces before heading to state competition in early April.
