Meeker Fire & Rescue celebrated 85 years of service to the community at the annual banquet Saturday, March 10 at the Fairfield Center. Among the awards presented by Fire Chief Terry Skidmore and Assistant Fire Chief Vaughn Moody were Officer of the year to Luke Pelloni (left), Firefighter of the Year to Joe Larson (center) and the Chief’s Recognition Award to Justin Slaugh (right). Other awards presented included the Livesaving Award, presented to Patti Merriam, Chief Skidmore and Wade Bradfield; and Medical Provider of the Year to Tina Skidmore. Dale Frisby, the oldest retired member, and Dawn Jastrem, the newest active member, cut the cake together.
