RANGELY | The congregation at First Baptist Church (FBC) in Rangely, Colorado, would like to thank Pastor David Morton and his wife Carol for 32 years of faithful ministry to the Lord, FBC and the Rangely community. When the young couple first pulled into Rangely along with their young son Peter they were excited to see what God had in store for them. In the years between then and now, they raised their four kids. At the end of May, they are looking forward to moving to Indiana to be near the kids and grandkids.
In addition to his part-time duties at FBC, David has been working full-time at Colorado Northwestern Community College as the Rangely — Gateway Center Coordinator for the past three years. While working full-time at FBC for numerous years, he taught speech classes at CNCC. David has served on several of the local boards in the community.
Carol currently teaches at Rangely Junior Senior High and has tutored at CNCC. Carol has enjoyed homeschooling their four children, teaching at the schools, giving thousands of piano lessons to the local kids, and playing the piano for the worship service at FBC. She has also had many opportunities to play or accompany singers on the piano.
Many of us at the church and in the community have been blessed by their kind and caring hearts while losing a loved one, hospital stays and illnesses, unemployment, and many other difficult times. They both have also drawn alongside us during times of success and celebrating a birthday, graduations, and marriages.
It isn’t easy to summarize 32 years of fond times and memories or to do justice to all they have done and meant to so many people. Our hearts are full of gratitude and appreciation to David and Carol, and we thank them for their faithful ministry to us.
If you would like to hear David preach one more time before his retirement officially begins, we would love to have you join us Sunday, Dec. 18, at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist located at 207 S Sunset Ave. Carol will still play the piano until they leave for Indiana in May.
