Robert Steven (Steve) Brubaker, of Morganton, North Carolina, passed away on Nov. 16, 2024, in his home. Brubaker was born May 23, 1948. He worked in the corporate agricultural sector most of his life with John Deere Financial, in addition to spending a few years in ministry. Most notably, Steve was a man of faith, and shared the love of Christ with many over his life’s journey. He will be deeply missed. Mr. Brubaker is survived by his wife, Myra Brubaker; his son, Bryan Brubaker, both of Morganton, North Carolina; four siblings, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Cortez on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. with a reception to follow.
