MEEKER I Meeker’s own Andy Goettel will preside over the 2010 Meeker Classic International Art Contest. Andy has been an art instructor for 34 years. During his tenure at Meeker High School, he has taught students in a myriad of mediums, including drawing, acrylics and oil painting, watercolors, pottery and sculpture, photography, printmaking and computer graphics.
As a professional artist, Andy also operates a pottery studio called G3 Pottery and Arts. The work Andy produces is a combination of functional stoneware, raku work and sculptural forms. His work can be seen and is available for purchase at the Meeker Classic Craft Fair, where G3 Pottery and Arts have been quality vendors and part of the Meeker Classic for years.
Andy’s credentials are numerous and he most recently won awards in the Glenwood Springs Art Guild Show and the Colorado Art Educators Show.
Don’t miss the “unveiling” of the 2010 International Art Contest Winner and next year’s Meeker Classic poster on Thursday evening, Sept. 9 from 5-7. The 2010 art reception is sponsored by Ladder Canyon Ranch.
