RBC | The couple killed in a double fatality accident on Monday, Oct. 7 that closed Hwy. 13 south of Meeker for approximately three hours have been identified as Casey and Briana Grossnickle, both 39, of Grand Junction, Colorado.
Keith Griffitts, the other driver involved in the head-on collision, was flown to St. Mary’s with life threatening injuries. No further information on his condition has been released.
According to the Colorado State Patrol, the accident investigation is ongoing. The Garfield County Coroner’s Office said the Grossnickles were wearing seatbelts and traveling northbound toward Meeker when the accident occurred. As of press time, the cause of the accident is under investigation.
