MEEKER | Megan Smith from Meeker was in a terrible horse accident at the Estes Park Skijor event which led to serious injuries. She suffered fractured vertebra, broken ribs, and a wrist. Medical bills are piling up already as Megan only starts a long road to recovery. Megan moved to Meeker two years ago after meeting her husband at the Skijor.
“Since then, she and her two kids have fully embraced the ranching lifestyle,” Madi Bunkelman wrote on GoFundMe. “Anyone who knows Megan knows she brings joy and energy wherever she goes — especially during branding season, which she somehow manages to make everyone’s favorite time of year.”
