RBC I Getting the major candidates for statewide offices to visit Rio Blanco County before the Nov. 4 election is the goal of a multi-member county group. Priority are the gubernatorial and U.S. Senate candidates.
This group includes the Rio Blanco County Democratic and Republican parties, the Meeker and Rangely chambers of commerce and the Rio Blanco Herald Times. The student councils at Meeker and Rangely high schools are considering becoming co-sponsors as well.
The collaborative effort includes getting candidates to set visits to the county, arranging sites for those visits, facilitating public participation in order to expose the candidates to our communities and vice versa.
Any visits that are arranged will be noticed in the Herald Times, and group contacts will be notified by email.
