YouthZone and Alpine Bank are hosting the second annual Spring Gala on Friday, May 2, from 6-9 p.m. at the Hotel Colorado in Glenwood Springs. YouthZone, which has served at-risk youth and their families in Colorado’s 9th Judicial District for almost 50 years, is holding its largest event of the year. Tickets are $45 per person and include food, drinks, silent and live auctions, live music, and a $50,000 sweepstakes.
The evening will begin with hors d’oeuvres and drinks. The Hotel Colorado will provide eight appetizer stations, including sliders, tacos, charcuterie, and salads. Live music will be provided by the Confluents, who will play renditions of songs by Bob Marley, James Brown, and Stevie Wonder. The first hour is also for bidding on silent auction items and meeting YouthZone staff.
Blake Menezes of KLM Auctions will emcee the main event, which will feature a presentation about YouthZone’s clients, services, and operations. A live auction will follow, and a YouthZone client will give a musical performance and speech.
A paddle raise will allow attendees to support YouthZone’s services, such as court advocacy, substance use education, and therapy. One person will have the chance to win a $50,000 vehicle from Bighorn Toyota in a sweepstakes. Donations are encouraged for the sweepstakes. The Confluents will close the evening with another set. Last year, the event raised more than $80,000, and this year the goal is to exceed $100,000.
Sponsors include Alpine Bank, First Bank, Bighorn Toyota, Colorado Housing and Finance Authority, and SGM. Auction items from local businesses are also available. Bidding is also available online at www.YouthZone.com/gala.
YouthZone serves about 500 clients each year and impacts an additional 1,200 family members. Tickets are available at www.YouthZone.com/gala.
