RBC | Calling all mental health professionals: YouthZone is looking for a passionate and skilled Mental Health Counselor who can help us foster Hopeful Youth, Strong Families, and Safe Communities in Colorado’s 9th Judicial District. Since 1976, YouthZone has been the industry leader in supporting adjudicated and at-risk youth and families. We provide a wide range of services, including comprehensive two-generational assessment, court advocacy, substance use education, restorative justice programs, life skills, and more – all aimed at fostering positive youth development and strengthening family and community bonds. In 2024, we provided 33 no-cost counseling sessions to our clients via third-party providers, and we’re excited to increase that number exponentially by bringing this position in-house.
Due to fact that this role works closely with at-risk youth, a master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field is required, as is the ability to acquire LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or similar licensure in the state of Colorado. While a minimum of two years of experience providing counseling services to youth and families is preferred, it’s not expected. We are, however, looking for someone who has a genuine passion for working with youth and a commitment to YouthZone’s mission and values.
The work itself involves conducting comprehensive assessments to develop individualized treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each client. Based on the results of the assessment, the Counselor will use evidence-based practices to deliver therapeutic services, addressing mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and behavioral challenges. The Counselor will also offer immediate support and intervention during times of crisis, ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.
YouthZone offers a supportive and collaborative work environment where employees are valued and encouraged to grow both personally and professionally. The organization is committed to providing high-quality services and making a positive impact in the community. As a Mental Health Counselor at YouthZone, you will have the opportunity to access ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and advance your career. You’ll also get to work alongside a dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about making a difference in the community. Compensation is great, too. We recently adjusted our salary and benefits packages to be some of the most competitive in the state.
If you’re interested in applying or know someone else who might be, we encourage you to visit www.YouthZone.com/careers to view the job posting and learn more. If you’re not a mental health professional but still interested in supporting the work we do in the community, we encourage you to make a financial contribution by visiting www.YouthZone.com/give. We have a wide variety of opportunities for businesses to sponsor our work, as well as several ways for individuals and families to support us and stay involved.
