For seniors Connor Blunt, Casey Brink, Jonathan Cardile, Dagon Dade, Kaden Franklin, Elijah LeBlanc, Joe McKay, Tanner Musser, and Payke Potetz, last Saturday was the final game of their high school careers.
The Cowboys made a 389 mile journey to Wray for the first round of playoffs, and the game did not end in their favor. Wray came out strong, controlling the game offensively and defensively in the first half, putting up 34 points and allowing none.
Wray’s offense, led by QB Casey Midcap, put up over 400 yards in the game, but the Cowboys were able to shut it down in the second half.
After half time, only six points from a running clock, the Eagles were unable to put up an extra six, stopped by the Meeker defense. LeBlanc had 17 tackles, Blunt 14, Cade Blunt 12, and Brendan Clatterbaugh 10 but the contribution by the team went deep. The Cowboys had the ball less than 25% of the game which contributed to the loss.
Meeker’s final record is 5-4 for the 2022 season.
