It’s been a long time coming — 20 years or more — but Meeker finally has a banner over Market Street at the intersection with 7th St., alerting travelers of downtown amenities and river access. A lot of planning and design effort by Uplift Meeker: Mainstreet Program went into this project, with assistance from the Town of Meeker, White River Electric Association for installing the poles, Identity Graphics for printing, and John Snyder of ER Welding. Snyder designed a one-of-a-kind custom raising and lowering crank system that saved money and also allows the banners to be changed by hand. Niki Turner Photo
