For the first time in what is believed-to-be the 18th playing of the Rio Blanco County Cup, the golfers from Rangely came to Meeker and dominated the rain-delayed tournament, defending their title and bragging rights, as the “Cup” will reside in the western end of Rio Blanco County for another year. According to Rangely men’s club captain Robbie Elam, “It’s about time.” Rangely avenged their home loss to Meeker, several years ago and according to Elam, the win for Rangely evens the score at nine wins for each town.
