MEEKER I This summer, the History Colorado State Historical Fund outreach team has been traveling across the state to give presentations on grant opportunities for local historic preservation projects, including an upcoming meeting in Meeker.
These community roundtable events are open to the public and will help potential applicants prepare to apply for historic preservation grants.
On Aug. 19 at 10 a.m., the outreach team will be hosting a community roundtable at the Old West Heritage Culture Center on Park Street in Meeker. Please consider spreading the word regarding the event.
Since 1993, the State Historical Fund has awarded more than $270 million in grants to fund more than 4,000 projects across Colorado. The community roundtables are open to anyone who is seeking funding for a historic preservation project.
The next application deadline is Oct. 1. The State Historical Fund’s competitive grant application is online and will be live on Aug. 15.
Whether applicants have applied before or are new to the process, the community roundtables will provide helpful tips about the new online application, answer questions and give guidance for preparing a competitive application.
