Special to the HT
MEEKER | On Wednesday, Dec. 3, HopeWest held our annual Lights of Life event at St. James Episcopal Church in Meeker. This cherished tradition offers a moment to remember, and honor loved ones who hold a special place in our hearts throughout the year, especially during the holiday season.
The evening featured a spiritual message, and a candle lighting ceremony that brought comfort to all who attended.
The holidays can be especially challenging for those who have experienced loss. Lights of Life provides our community with an opportunity to come together, reflect, and celebrate the lives of those we love.
This event was free and open to the public. Many attendees purchased personalized luminaries in memory of loved ones, which are on display throughout the month at the HopeWest administrative office in Meeker.
“I felt an overwhelming sense of peace, something I know others felt too,” said Diana Jones, Program Director at HopeWest. “This space for healing and gathering, seeing us all together, not just the families of patients in our care, but also members of our community and volunteers, was incredibly moving.”
We are grateful to St. James Episcopal Church for hosting this special event and to all who attended.
