Hydro plant at Kenney Reservoir undergoing additional repairs

Special to the HT

RANGELY | The turbine which cost $2.5 million to repair has been installed but owing to now other needed repair and maintenance due to the hydro plant being out of commission for months, it is still not in operation.

RBWCD hopes to have it running in two to three weeks.

Peak flow was believed to have been May 15 approximately based on the water meter at Boise Creek. The CFS was 1240 on that day.

The board looks forward to learning more about a new dredging bill that was passed in the Colorado Legislature this year. The RBWCD had a meeting about in stream flow rights and the new dredge and fill law with the Colorado River District the day after the board meeting. There is no news at this time about RBWCD placing a call on the river which they may do once the river dips below 700 CFS.
