MEEKER | Residents of the White River upstream from Taylor Draw Dam are urged to check their well permits.
Water Commissioner Betty Kracht said, “I am once again reaching out asking everyone to check your well permits to make sure they are permitted and permitted correctly. We have had several people discover that their wells were never permitted, not permitted for the correct uses, or considered expired on the state website.”
According to Kracht some wells are also listed under the wrong owner name or shown in the wrong location.
“These items don’t have to be fixed prior to the over-appropriation date of May 1, 2025, but they are easy to fix and can be done all at once.”
