MEEKER | The It’s a Way of Life 4-H community club January meeting was called to order by club president Hayden Garcia. Riley Alger, Annabeth Moody and Azalia Bresnak led pledges. During the cat portion of the meeting they named the parts of the cat and learned how to hold them.
Livestock is having a Valentine’s Day spaghetti dinner. Rock-A-Thon is going to be on Feb. 3 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The leadership development conference is Jan. 28-30 for ages 14-18. 4-H enrollment deadline is on Feb. 1. District Retreat will be March 31-April 2 in Glenwood Springs.
Club members were asked to bring their project goals to the next meeting. These goals must be achievable for each project, and will be used in the record books. At least one community pride project has to be done with the club. One community pride event was held Jan. 27 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Meeker Public Library, where club members made Valentine crafts and read to kids that showed up.
The following demonstrations were done: Hoyt Garcia showed us the parts and feathers of a wing. Cassidi Henderson showed us how to decorate a cake and Anakin Nichols showed us his archery equipment.
