ED PECK PHOTO/CUTLINE
Kevyn Mack was the first reader to supply correct answers to last week’s “what is this tool?” quiz. Answer: The wrench was designed for specific nuts and bolts on a McCormick Deering mower of unknown year. Old machines often had carriage bolts with square nuts. McCormick Deering was later absorbed into International Harvester Corporation (IHC). The wrench belongs to a local gentleman whose name is in a missing notebook belonging to Ed Peck .
The weird tool with the claws is an old carpet stretcher used for carpet installation. It belongs to Cramer Flooring of Craig, Colorado.
