MEEKER I Hello, my name is Hattie Brennan. This is my third year in 4-H. I am excited to say I am the new reporter for the “It’s Showtime” 4-H Club.
We kicked the new year off with a meeting on Sunday, Jan. 9 at 4 p.m. with the pledges led by Cambrey Rogers, Mollee Vroman and Miles Etchart. We did a fun “icebreaker” to get everyone warmed up. Then Tatumn Kennedy gave the secretary report, Hayden Shults gave us the treasurer’s report. Lastly, Klayton Carol gave us the county council report. Next, we played a game called the compass name game so everyone could know each other better.
We then did demonstrations: Cora Lewis with parts of a lamb, Nick and Spencer Gates on goats, as well as Cienna Rogers with what she uses to wash goats.
We have some important upcoming dates:
• Feb. 1 deadline for enrollment for returning members!
• February officer training — watch your email for the date
• Feb. 27 Beef Weigh-in 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
• May 16 Sheep Goat and Swine Weigh in 5-7 p.m.
• June 27 poultry/rabbit weigh in 5-7 p.m.
We have an opportunity for a community pride project with Meeker Skijor.
• Feb. 18 setup
• Feb. 19 pickup after event
