RBC | We started our meeting on Sunday, July 10 at 4 p.m. First, we did our Pledge of Allegiance and our 4-H Pledge led by Cambrey Rogers, Milo Brennan and Brodee Kilduff. Then, we had an “ice breaker.” Hadley Franklin and Marryn Shults demonstrated how to give a good interview and how to do a good handshake. We had good practice going around and shaking hands with other members, parents and fair board members. Charlie Rogers gave the secretary’s report and Nick Gates gave the treasurer’s report.
Following were demonstrations: Leah Wood on how to rope and tie a calf down, Eli and Charlie Bennett on parts of a goat, Teagan Smith on folliculitis in all species but talked mostly about goats, Cambrey Rogers on how to treat ringworm and Carlos and Joselyn Ruiz on breeds of cattle. We then did a demonstration circle formed by Tatum Kennedy. We went in a circle telling what you learned about during the demonstrations. Following demonstrations, several stations were set up for us to participate in. We had the opportunity to practice interview skills, worked on writing thank you notes and addressing envelopes. We had the opportunity to get help with fair entry and submit stall/pen requests.
Important upcoming Dates:
- July 14 stall assignment deadline to turn in to leaders
- July 15 is fair entry deadline
