Kelley, Etchart to receive Fretwell Outstanding Educator awards

MEEKER |  MHS distinguished faculty member’s Kathleen Kelley and Naomi Etchart, have been selected to receive the prestigious Elbert K. Fretwell Award for Outstanding Educators at the annual MHS awards ceremony at Meeker High School Auditorium set for 2:00 PM on Wednesday May 7. 

Ben Quinn, MHS Fine arts Educator is the 2022 Fretwell Award recipient and will confer the awards along  with Principal Amy Chinn and students of both teachers.   

The Fretwell Award is conferred  to honor the incomparable efforts of outstanding educators in mentioning ‘and inspiring students to high achievement and making ethical decisions during their educational experiences. Following the 115-year-old Scouting America youth-serving organization to inspire servant leadership and high ethical achievement, was chartered by the U.S. Congress in 1916.  

Elbert K. Fretwell, Ph.D. was a Professor of Education at Columbia University and later served as the second Chief Scout Executive of him Boy Scouts of America to affirm the collaborative roles of public education and Scouting.  More than 2.75 million young men and women  have become Eagle Scouts since 1910 and are among the top servant  leaders and creative thinkers of our nation.  Moreover, Eagle Scout Astronaut Neil Armstrong  first landed on the Moon in 1969, Presidents, Military flag officers, University Presidents, Nobel Prize laureates, physicians, lawyers, business leaders and much more.
